What the hell happened to Amy Winehouse

Ok, yes, maybe a little too much eye makeup, but that's her look. She looks healthy.

Exhibit Two:


Coachella. What the hell? She looks like a totally different person!! Her face doesn't even resemble the one in the other picture in the slightest. I wouldn't even have guessed it was her if it wasn't for the hair (and the fact that the picture had "Amy Winehouse" right next to it). And what's with the awful trailer trash clothing? Yes, Indio, California IS hot, but that's no excuse. I much prefer the cocktail style dresses. Does anyone think she looks even remotely the same? She looks old an wrinkled and gross.


It's my goal to get to Coachella one day. Or SXSW, or Bonnaroo (which I should really learn how to spell).

Alright: I've decided that this blog will now be equal parts music, fashion, and random things I find insanely awesome or appalling. If you don't like it.... shoo.

First up:
Alex Turner, will you marry me? I wish I was joking, but I don't joke about the Arctic Monkeys. It is simply not done. I don't care about all the hype. I'll just take YOU! Your lyrics are beyond compare, your guitar riffs far out. I won't feed you any fake tales of San Francisco, just sing me a song when the sun goes down. Once, I thought, "I bet you look good on the dance floor. Then I saw you, and you couldn't see for the lights but you were staring straight at me. Truthfully, baby, I'm yours. Here's the deal with Yea or Nay?. It's pretty simple, I post something, you tell me yes or no.

First up: Colored Denim



I really dislike the electric blue (even though that is my favorite color, I just don't like anything involving Ashlee Simpson), and the red looks awful (though, truthfully, when does Fergie NOT look awful?). I, however, LOVE the purple on Rachel Bilson. Just when I though jeans tucked into boots had died, she proved me wrong. Those moccasin style boots are adorable. I love her glasses and hair, her whole outfit basically. I really want purple denim now!

So what's your verdict on colored denim? Yea or nay?

Newest Musical Obsession:

The Hush Sound



A Pete Wentz (ew) discovery, but they're nothing like Fall Out Boy. The fact that there is a girl in the band is so refreshing, and she doesn't even sing lead on every song, which is very cool. She's a classically trained pianist. Her name is Greta. She kicks ass. Her voice is so pure and pristine.

And Bob, the other singer, well his voice is just so damn cool. There's something about it. When Bob and Greta sing on the same song, it's magic. I just discovered them today, actually, and I'm glad I did!

Their music is happy.... no hard guitars or overwhelming drum beats or anything. Just good melodies and bouncy beats. Yet they're not totally pop. I don't know what it is.

But seriously. The Hush Sound kicks. Check them out!

Spring!

Thank goodness winter's over. I am so ready for spring.

Here's just a part of my ideal spring wardrobe. To bad I can't afford half of it. Oh, life with a single parent.

Pssss: Everything except the colorful dress, two tanks, and grey tee is from Urban Outfitters.

I have a soft spot for crocheted berets. I think I could pull this off if I wore it with confidence, no apologies.


I love the soft blue-grey color. And I love it over the tank, with the belt, making it more casual.


I think of myself of a wannabe hippie. I'm one-third hippie. Drugs-no. Sex-no, not yet at least, lol. Rock n' roll- YES. But I love peace. And the environment. And granola. So I'm kind of a hippie, I suppose. GO AL GORE!


I am one of the few Democrats in my stifleingly Conservative school. I would love to wear this on a dress down day. I would probably wear it all the time, on weekends, in fact. Just as a nice little, "Fuck you!" to my Republican hometown.


See above. My myspace (no, you can't have it. Though I don't know why you would) is littered with peace signs and slogans.


This is soooo pretty and perfect. I want. I would pair with some mid-thigh cuffed khakis and my gladiator sandals. Perhaps with a slouchy-ish leather bag?


My coloring is much the same as the model's (except my blonde's NATURAL!), so I think this compliment my skin tone and hair. But other than that, it's just pretty!


I'm not quite sure why I like this. But I do. Hm.


I love the casual yet tailored style of this pinstripe shorts.

The next three items are really random, but I am so in love with Old Navy's tees and tanks. They are so soft and comfortable and fit me comfortable. And for some reason I really love grey lately.
